Feasting on enoughness

I’m sitting in my studio in the fading light of this first December afternoon. I’ll be dashing out to pick up my kids in a moment, but first, I wanted to share a little of what’s been swirling in my mind these past few weeks.

Here are a few of the things I share about in this reverie:

  • Returning again and again to the reminder, “I am enough and this is enough.”

  • The idea of “feasting on enoughness” in a season that often tells us to do more, be more, even enjoy more, and definitely make sure to make the most of everything and every moment

  • Presence and awareness without pressure, force, or urgency

  • A beautiful moment from the novel Snow Falling on Cedars

  • Metabolizing life through poetry and a daily poetry writing practice that helps me metabolize my life, move feelings through my body, and stay closer to what is alive and true and present
